About Myanga AngusThe core business at Myanga is producing cold country cattle with real performance.
Myanga Angus is a family owned business operated by the Dunne Family and is situated on the Great Dividing Range north of Goulburn at Chatsbury in the Southern Tablelands NSW. The core business at Myanga is producing cold country cattle with real performance.
At Myanga we are breeding to our specifications with a close eye on the figures to keep every trait in balance. We believe that EBV’S are an important guide to breeding predictability but need to have a great phenotype with the fundamentals of feet, structure, fertility, length and muscling combined with these figures.
Fertility is paramount to provide high returns per hectare. Over our 300 head herd there would be no more that 1% assisted at calving which includes 80 plus heifers. We have not chased low birth weight EBV’S but we are very conscious of calving ease for maximum returns.
The cattle at Myanga are not pampered and are run under commercial conditions that have been somewhat harsh in recent years so doing ability is very important.
We are continually introducing new genetics at Myanga. Bulls that don’t perform to our strict guidelines regarding temperament, structural correctness don’t get a second chance. The cattle at Myanga have been bred and selected to achieve high growth rates with no compromise to structural soundness and confirmation. Soft easy doing females with growth are what our herd is based on.
We place great emphasis on having an excellent female herd which in return produces good bulls. Myanga genetics at both weaner and female sales continue to be at the Top End. We have many very satisfied clients, and we stand behind our product 200%.
